+1 to above who points out that red is thin and luck-based (read: the bread and butter of your deck is uncommons). Going U/B early would have been, IMO, an even stronger deck. In P1P7, ponder is not in the same league as sign in blood. Had you gone B in pack 2, not only is there 2x tendrils but also a very late wall of bone (which is almost as good as wall of frost in this kind of control deck) and a WHEELED mind shatter. With 3-4 draw 2's and a mind shatter, you are pretty well guaranteed huge card advantage, not to mention the gravediggers providing more incremental advantage. I can't emphasize enough how good tendrils is in this deck, it's like a better time walk against anything that wants to kill you with creatures.

I think you are missing some text right before you cover round 2. I'm curious if there was anything significant after playing sage owl and canyon minotaur.

Additionally, I agree with you on going blue red as opposed to black blue, as pack one clearly shows that red was open or that people couldn't evaluate the power of the cards correctly, and your deck also started moving toward that damage dealing strategy etc.

A pick 10 Sparkmage and Pick 11 Stone giant tell me that people are not drafting red. The other players did pick up the Black Knight and a Gravedigger (from pack 3) and a Weakness and Act of Treason from pack 2. (I don't care about the act in a control deck)

I think people are scared of picking up double red cards and that's one reason why they go so late. If both the Gravedigger and weakness made it to pack 11 I'd probably go black blue second pack.

Congratulations, although I probably would've gone Blue-Black with Tendrils-Tendrils in Pack 2. Drafting red relies too much on luck, getting passed the right cards (2nd Artillery, 2 Pyromancers, Bolt, Pyroclasm).
